I've bought stuffed toys at the dollar store that didn't last longer than a couple of days. I then had to pick up stuffing that was spread throughout the house. That's why I bought this toy. Quote: "All Skinneeez are stuffing free and last longer than regular plush dog toys because there is no stuffing for dogs to rip out." It's true that there is no stuffing, which is a good thing, however the fabric is very thin and easy to rip. I thought this would be good for my 12 week old yellow lab. He loved it, to bad that it's in pieces after 2 days. He does seem to like these toys more than the others, maybe because he can tear them up easier. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on 3 of these. We had to stop buying plush toys for our 40 lbs boxer mix because usually within seconds or hours, he would have ripped it to shreds and started on the stuffing. This squirrel has lasted weeks and is still going. It has been loving chewed, carried, tossed, and still is pretty much intact!! I'm sure it has to do with the "no fill" so a rip won't be as noticeable when there is nothing to come out. The funny thing is I bought this one and 2 others similar ones because I anticipated a short life span. Boy, I was wrong. He loves it and carries it around a lot. There is a squeaker on each end and he has "disabled" one of them but the other squeaker keeps this a favorite.
